Official launching of the 40 UNDER 40 Nigeria

As part of our concerted effort to promote Nigeria's international image, 40UNDER40 NIGERIA was officially launched at the prestigious Lagos Motor Boat Club, Ikoyi Lagos on Friday the eighteenth May, 2007. The Executive Director, Ego Boyo Mrs. welcomed the guests to the launch of 40UNDER40 Nigeria project.

It was a night of Celebration - a celebration of excellence and commitment, it was also recognition of the intent to provide opportunities for the less privileged Children by honoring individuals who exemplify the qualities that we wish to impart unto the Nigerian child. 40UNDER40 wants to challenge and inspire these children and to discover potentials and create success by giving them parallel life studies to emulate. She stressed that what we are doing is one of vital importance and can change or influence our country's future.

Slides of Nigerian Achievers and their accomplishments were run on the screen slides all evening.

There was a musical performance by the children of the Ovie Brume Youth Center. Children of the Ovie Brume youth center are future beneficiaries of the 40under40 project.

The Executive Director, Ufo Eric -Atuanya officially unveiled the logo of 40under40 and spoke extensively about the project.

Cisco representative Mr. Vincent Entonu spoke about Cisco's partnership with 40under40 Nigeria and how they will impact the lives of the children. Cisco Networking. Academy will train 40 underserved children. These children will be trained yearly starting with 6 geo- political zones and subsequently all over the country in IT related careers in the public and private sectors as well as higher education in engineering, computer science and related fields.

Guests in attendance were urged to join in celebrating Nigeria and at the same time to invest in the lives of individual children exposing their minds and creating opportunities they never thought could exist.
